Final Project: Field Project
As a graduation requirement, apart from taking the thesis, Communication Science students at FISIP Undip also have the option to complete a project equivalent to a thesis known as the Field Project. The Field Project provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate that their work has been professionally accepted by industry in their respective specializations, namely journalism and strategic communication.
Typically, the Field Project is the result of collaboration between students from the two concentrations: Journalism students focus more on content production, while Strategic Communication students focus on client communication, sponsorship management, and marketing communication. In addition to acquiring professional skills, the Field Project also opens up networking opportunities with the industry, providing students with broader job prospects after graduation.
Several companies that have partnered with the Communication Science program include TVRI Central Java, iNews Semarang, Kompas TV, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), GOJEK, Semarang City Government, and Kominfo Central Java. Below are some examples of “Field Projects” that have been produced by students.
- The Field Project was aired on iNews Semarang in 2014.
- The Field Project titled "Harmoni Islam" program was aired on local television station Kompas TV Central Java during Ramadan 1435 H (2014).
- The Field Project aired on TVRI Central Java in 2020, consisting of 35 features (3-5 minutes each) broadcast on the TVRI Central Java News Program.
