Semarang, August 21, 2026 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University, successfully held the Alumni Consolidation – Communication Homecoming Day 2026: “Communication Impact, Connecting Generation,” an alumni forum for Communication Science focused on strengthening cross-generational relationships and enhancing alumni contributions to the nation. The event took place on Friday (August 21) in a hybrid format via Zoom Meeting. This activity aligns with FISIP UNDIP’s vision and mission to compete as a World Class Faculty.
The event, attended by 500 participants, began with remarks from the Alumni Representative or IKA of the Department of Communication Science, Prof. Dr. Wahyu Rudanto, and the Dean of FISIP UNDIP. The official opening was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Prof. Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., and the Head of the Department of Communication Science, Dr. Agus Naryoso, S.Sos., M.Si.
Alumni Consolidation – Communication Homecoming Day 2026: “Communication Impact, Connecting Generation” featured three inspiring speakers: Vicky M. Rosyad, S.I.Kom., External Communications Manager at PT Krakatau Steel, and Yeremi Gamaliel S., S.I.Kom., South East Asia Marketing Manager at a Global Tech Company. During the event, Vicky shared memories from his college days to his current role as a corporate secretary. “As a communication science graduate, the ability to continuously learn new things is essential, along with coordination skills and leadership that can be developed from college through student organizations,” said Vicky in his presentation. Yeremi, who was enthusiastic about returning to campus, shared that many courses had an impact on his career journey in the global industry. “Marketing communication, creative strategy, consumer behavior, event management, and many other courses provided skills that continue to be developed and are needed in today’s career. Courses provide the language, experience provides proof, and relationships open up possibilities.”
The event became even more engaging as it was moderated by Ken Anne, a News Anchor at TV One. The Talkshow session began with Session 1: Career Growth in Corporate Communication and Stakeholder Management, presented by Vicky M. Rosyad, S.I.Kom. In this session, Vicky discussed various career paths available to communication science graduates, including the competencies that S.I.Kom graduates should possess. This was followed by Session 2 by Yeremi, titled “How to Stand Out, Stay Relevant and Grow in the Digital Industry,” and concluded with a Q&A session with alumni of the Department of Communication Science who connected and attended via Zoom Meeting. Yeremi also emphasized that students should not fully rely on AI, as there are aspects of the creative world that cannot be replaced by AI alone.
The event closed with a trivia quiz, door prize giveaways, and a collective prayer, along with a strong emphasis on the importance of cross-generational spirit that must be maintained by the entire IKA FISIP UNDIP family.
